Summary
This supplement is for the purpose of strengthening and enhancing the capabilities of state, local, and territorial public health and health care systems to respond effectively (mitigate the loss of life and reduce the threats to the community’s health and safety) to evolving threats and other emergencies within the United States, its territories, and freely associated states.

Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) recipients focus on activities that advance progress toward meeting the goals of the 2017-2022 Health Care Preparedness and Response Capabilities and document progress in establishing or maintaining ready health care systems through strong HCCs.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) recipients continue to advance the development of effective public health emergency management and response programs as outlined in the Public Health Preparedness Capabilities: National Standards for State and Local Planning.
