The Water Recycling Funding Program provides funding to eligible applicants for the construction of water recycling facilities, including engineering, construction, management, and contingencies. Projects may include: construction cost of recycled water treatment, storage, pump stations, and distribution pipeline systems; recycled water distribution pipeline systems; recycled water distribution pipeline with a terminal point serving a user that is committed by mandatory use ordinance or by contract to take recycled water; pump station wet wells and pipelines; or reasonable costs to provide an emergency backup water supply for the recycled water system.

Eligibility Notes
Eligible applicants include: local public agencies, nonprofit organizations, public utilities, Indian tribes, mutual water companies, privately owned water utilities regulated by the Public Utilities Commission.

Applicants must provide 50 percent of project costs from local contributions. The matching requirement may be reduced for small disadvantaged communities as defined by the funding agency.

Competition Notes
At least 40 percent of funding will be allocated to Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura Counties. At least 40 percent will be allocated to all other California counties, and 20 percent will be provided to projects in any county.
