Summary
The purpose of the planning grant is to assist agencies or regions with completing planning studies for water recycling projects using treated municipal wastewater and/or treated groundwater from sources contaminated by human activities. Grants are provided for studies to determine the feasibility of using recycled water and selecting a recommended alternative to offset or augment the use of fresh/potable water from state and/or local supplies. In addition to encouraging new recycling planning studies, these funds are intended to supplement local funds and enhance the quality of local planning efforts.
