Contractor shall operate a 988 Crisis Call Center for LAC that will answer telephone calls, texts, and chats from individuals in mental health crisis seeking supports in the behavioral health system. Contractor shall provide a full array of 24/7 crisis intervention services, including:

  • Suicide prevention 24/7 hotline services, with the capacity for assessment, intervention, and support delivered telephonically and via texting/chatting functions;

  • Deploy MCOT and PMRT for callers who are assessed to need crisis mobile response, utilizing DMH policies and procedures;

  • Provide direct referrals to crisis stabilization centers/Urgent Care Centers (UCCs);

  • Utilize an LAC-designated bed registry and make direct referrals to inpatient psychiatric beds, and provide an active hand off to follow up mental health services, as clinically indicated, including County- operated and contracted behavioral health providers and Managed Care Plans for clients with private insurance;

  • Contractor shall follow DMH established procedures for the deployment of MCOT and PMRT services and coordinate with the DMH ACCESS Call Center, as appropriate;

  • When a bed is available, Contractor shall first refer patients requiring acute inpatient psychiatric services to participating General Acute Care Hospitals.
