This program provides funds to support accelerated delivery of projects that were approved for funding from the 2017 Active Transportation Program (ATP). Goals for the program are to:
 Reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
 Maximize economic, environmental, and public health benefits to the State;
 Foster job creation by promoting in‐State greenhouse gas emission reduction projects carried out by California workers and businesses;
 Complement efforts to improve air quality;
 Direct investment toward the most disadvantaged communities and households in the State;
 Provide opportunities for businesses, public agencies, nonprofits, and other community institutions to participate in and benefit from statewide efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
 Lessen the impacts and effects of climate change on the State’s communities, economy, and environment.

At least 25% of the available proceeds will go to projects that provide benefits to disadvantaged communities; and at least 10% of the available proceeds will go to projects located within disadvantaged communities

All projects for this program must have been submitted and received a score for the 2017 California Active Transportation Program (ATP).

Eligible entities include: local, regional, and state agencies; transit agencies;federal, tribal, state, or local entities responsible for natural resources or land management; public schools or school districts entities responsible for oversight of transportation or recreational trails.
