The CTEIG program has the goal of providing K-12 pupils with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition to employment and postsecondary education. The program encourages the delivery and maintenance of career technical education (CTE) programs during implementation of the school district and charter school local control funding formula (LCFF). The recipients of the CTEIG funds are required to implement and maintain a CTE program meeting the following requirements: 1) High-quality curriculum and instruction aligned with the California CTE Model Curriculum Standards; 2) Quality career exploration and guidance; 3) Pupil support services including counseling and leadership development; 4) System alignment with postsecondary educational institutions; 5) Ongoing and structural industry and labor partnerships; 6) Opportunities to participate in after-school; extended-day; and out-of-school internships, competitions, and other work-based learning opportunities; 7) Programs reflective of regional or local labor-market demands; 8) Programs leading to an industry-recognized credential, certificate, appropriate postsecondary training, or employment; 9) Staffing by CTE-credentialed teachers or faculty professional development opportunities; 10) Data reporting to allow for an evaluation of the program. |

Additional eligible applicants include consortia, charter schools, and regional occupation centers or programs operated by joint powers authorities, provided that the application has the written consent of each participating local educational agency. Applicants applying as a consortium must document the partnership through a memorandum of understanding. |

Applicants must provide two-to-one matching contributions. Matching contributions may include funding from school districts, charter schools, federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvements Act of 2008, California Partnership Academies, and the Agricultural Incentive Grant. |
