This program supports projects that directly or indirectly mitigate the environmental effects of existing transportaion facilities or the construction of new facilities. The program encourages projects that produce multiple benefits that will reduce greenhouse gases, increase water-use efficiency, reduce risk from climate change impacts, and demonstrate collaboration with local, state, and community entities,. Eligible facilities include: public streets, highways, and mass transit guideways, such as trains, ports, light rail, city streets and airports. Appurtenant facilities are also eligible and include park-and-ride facilities, HOV lanes, and transit stations. |

Joint powers authorities and special districts are eligible, provided that most members are local or California authorities. Partnerships are encouraged. Applicant does not need to be a transportation-related organization but must demonstrate enough authority to carry out the project. |
