|
The purpose of this program is to create and retain safe, sanitary, affordable housing. Eligible activities include: New or rehabilitated rental projects with or without acquisition; First-time home buyer (FTHB) activities, developing homes to be sold to first-time home buyers; Program activities, such as FTHB acquisition down payments, FTHB acquisition with rehabilitation, FTHB infill construction, owner-occupied housing rehabilitation, and tenant-based rental assistance. |

Eligible applicants are: Cities and counties that do not receive HOME funds directly from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); developers, including Native American Entities, and current state-certified nonprofit Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) proposing activities in eligible communities. |
