The purpose of this program is to select residential care providers to furnish temporary shelter care and other related services to unaccompanied alien children (UAC) who are in the custody of the funding agency. UAC are defined as minors under 18 years of age who have no lawful immigration status in the United States, and lack a parent or legal guardian in the United States who is available to provide care and physical custody. Recipients will be expected to provide services to a diverse population of UAC of all ages and genders, including pregnant and parenting teens.
